RE: NOTICE OF FUNERAL POLICY CANCELLATION
We hope this letter finds you well. Please be advised that, after careful consideration, Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (South Africa) Limited (“Old Mutual”) has decided to discontinue our relationship with the above mentioned scheme from 31 January 2025.
As a company that keeps its customers at the centre of everything we do, we remain committed to our relationship with you as your trusted financial services partner. To ensure ongoing support and coverage for you and your group, we have arranged an option to transition you and your group to Old Mutual Alternative Risk Transfer Limited (OMART), also a licensed life insurer in the Old Mutual Group. We believe they will be able to meet the needs of your group effectively.
Key points regarding the transition:
- Effective date of cancellation: Your current insurance group scheme will remain active and cover for you and your dependants will continue until 31 January 2025. All claims and services will continue as usual until this date.
- New coverage option: We have arranged for your group to consider a seamless transition to OMART who provides funeral insurance cover to burial societies similar to yours. MyMeerkat FSP, a representative appointed by OMART will be in touch shortly with your group to discuss the details and answer any questions that the Executive Committee may have. This means that while one part of Old Mutual is cancelling your cover, another part is interested in providing similar new cover to you.
- Other options: If you prefer to explore other insurance options independently, we will provide the necessary support.
- Continuous support: Until the cancellation date, you and your dependants will continue to enjoy the cover and service received thus far.
We understand that this news may come as a surprise, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
